Owner Steve Thomas is the driving force behind Free Spirits. He has been involved in outdoor activities for over eighteen years. He has served all over the world with the Royal Marines Adventure Training Team.

He left the forces in 1991 and after spending three years in a
large outdoor centre in a management position, he decided to branch out on his own and started Freespirits.

He is a Kayak Instructor, Mountain Expedition Leader, and Raft Guide Trainer.  He is qualified in climbing and abseiling, skiing, parachuting and mountain first aid. The company boasts a 100% safety record due to Steve's insistence on never compromising safety.

Cliff jumping is jumping from a cliff onto a soft spot, preferably a river.  You start at fifteen feet and work your way up to greater heights.  You will be taken to your first launch site where you will be taught the correct techniques for jumping and entering the water correctly. As soon as your technique is good enough, you will be taken to the next level of jumping.

You must be able to swim. You will need a swimming costume, a towel, and a long sleeved sweatshirt. Freespirits will provide you with a wetsuit, wetsuit boots, cagoul, buoyancy aid, and helmet.
