Formally designated in 1990, Clyde Muirshiel Country Park has an abundance of activities and history to enjoy.
Spreading over one hundred and six square miles, it includes moorland, woodland, loch-side and coastal scenery. There is a choice of sailing, canoeing, walking, cycling, and picnic areas.

The fascinating history of the Park includes a Roman road, a Peel Tower (a Peel tower is a fortified house or dwelling which was normally entered by a ladder to the first floor), chambered burial cairns, copper and barytes mines and the Collegiate Church.

There are a number of Centres situated throughout the Park and they are staffed by experienced Outdoor Instructors and Countryside Rangers. They can assist you in discovering the amazing array of recreational opportunities within the park. You will find kids corners, refreshments, a gift shop, toilets, meeting rooms and information points within the grounds of each Centre.
