The Distillery is situated at Lochranza on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Arran lies off the west coast of Scotland across from mainland Ayrshire.  It is one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland.

There were over fifty whisky distilleries on Arran early in the 19th Century, but most of these were illegal and hidden from the taxman.  The Isle of Arran Distillery was opened in 1995 and uses only traditional methods of distilling, with wooden washbacks and copper stills.
