Shetland Folk Festival
Dates & Location; 1st - 4th May 2008 in Shetland
The first Festival was held in 1981 and has grown steadily throughout the years. The annual event offers the best folk music from Shetland and around the world.  Performers play
in a series of concert settings and sessions in small venues. Music in a party atmosphere.


Isle of Bute Jazz Festival
Dates & Location; 1st - 5th May 2008 on Isle of Bute
The Jazz Festival has grown from its small beginnings in 1988 into one of Britain's most popular jazz weekends.  You'll enjoy top-class UK and international names, and traditional jazz music in one of Scotland's friendliest seaside resorts.
The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival
Dates & Location; 1st - 5th May 2008 in Speyside, North East Scotland
Scotland's National drink is celebrated in one of the most stunning areas of the Highlands.  There are almost fifty world famous distilleries located on Speyside. You can visit and tour the distilleries during the festival.  You'll enjoy tasting sessions, a gala dinner, ceilidh, and exhibitions.


Motorfair & the Scottish Motor Show
Dates & Location; 10th & 11th May 2008 at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Fife
Scotland's live and interactive motoring show. You’ll enjoy stunt shows and special zones - kids, 4x4s, truck and supercar, road safety, free track demos, free 4x4 rambles and skid pan demos.  You can see Formula 1 Ferrari Racing and Rally cars in the feature marquees. Great fun for the motor enthusiast.

The Aviemore and Cairngorms Walking and Mountain Festival
Dates & Location; 10th - 17th May 2008 in Aviemore
The Aviemore Walking Festival is now the Aviemore and Cairngorms Walking and Mountain Festival.  There will be ten guided walks through the stunning scenery of the Cairngorms.  There’s a mini expedition which involves spending two nights in mountain bothies.  You can enjoy mountain biking, climbing, kayaking, white water rafting, canyoning and more. After the day’s activities, there’s a full evening programme of events that includes mountain-related talks, films,
a Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team open night and a ceilidh supper.
