    Paisley Abbey

    Paisley Abbey is situated on the east bank of the White Cart Water in Paisley city centre, Renfrewshire.  It is a former Cluniac monastery and the current Church of Scotland parish kirk.  Saint Mirin is believed to have founded on the site in the 7th Century.

    Dunmore Pineapple

    The Dunmore Pineapple is a remarkable structure situated in Dunmore Park.  The park lies northwest of Airth, Falkirk. It was built in the grounds of Dunmore House in 1761 by John Murray, the 4th Earl of Dunmore.  It was used as a garden retreat and hothouse.  John Murray was based on Harbour Island just off the island of Eleuthera during his lifetime.

    Pictavia

    A number of Iron Age tribes lived in Northern Scotland around two thousand years ago. These tribes gradually merged and were known as the Picti, the Picts, by AD 297. The Land of the Picts was united with the Kingdom of the Scots creating the foundations of modern day Scotland.

    New Lanark World Heritage Site

    The New Lanark World Heritage Site is a beautifully restored 18th century cotton mill village.  It lies nestled in the stunning south Lanarkshire valley in southern Scotland nearby to the Falls of Clyde. The village first rose to great acclaim when Robert Owen was mill manager from 1800-1825. He transformed life in New Lanark with innovative ideas which were ahead of their time.

    New Abbey

    New Abbey, also known as Sweetheart Abbey, lies eight miles south of Dumfries.  It was founded in 1275 by Dervorguilla of Galloway, daughter of Alan, Lord of Galloway. She did so in memory of her husband John de Balliol.
