The Loch Ness Monster is one of the best known creatures in the world.  Nessie, as she is affectionately called by her admiring believers is, however, an elusive creature.  She has been sighted very rarely and is notoriously camera-shy.  She lives in one of the voluminous freshwater loch in Great Britain, Loch Ness.

    The Selkie

The selkies are seaside faeries.  They are found near to the Scottish lochs, the Hebrides and the Orkney Islands. Their appearance is that of a seal, but they are changelings.  They have the power to shed their skin and appear as human males and females.

    Black Donald

Black Donald is the Scottish devil.  He assumes many disguises and is often seen as an old man in a black suit. He is proficient at all jobs, except tailoring.

    The Dryad

The Dryads are faeries who are found in all Celtic countries. They are tree dwelling creatures and their nature is playful. In Greek drys signifies oak from an Indo-European root derew(o) meaning tree or wood.

    The Kelpie

The kelpie is a shape-shifting water horse that is believed to haunt the rivers and lochs of Scotland and Ireland. The kelpie would lure people onto its back and dive into a loch to mysteriously vanish.
