Loch Insh Watersports Centre is
situated in fourteen acres of woodland beside seven hundred acres of
beautiful Highland loch
. It was opened in 1969 and offers sailing, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, fishing,
rowing, biking, archery, rafting and walking. The
Landmark Forest Theme Park is situated at Carrbridge, twenty-three miles south of Inverness. It covers thirty acres and is a great, fun place for children and adults to enjoy outdoor activities and rides.
Yell Island is the second largest of the Shetland group and lies just north of the mainland.
The heathery moors are a haven for a number of breeding birds. A real treat for nature lovers. There is an old building on the island called Da Haa o’ Brough, The
Hall of Brough. It was built in 1672 by Robert Tyrie, proprietor and
fish merchant, who traded with merchants from Hamburg.
The rugged terrain of Scotland is ideally suited for
mountain biking.
The terrain covers impressive mountain passes to ancient forest single
tracks. The 7stanes are seven mountain biking centres. They are known as the 7stanes because each
venue will feature a stane at a point along the forest trails. Stane is
the Scottish word for stone. The 7stanes centres are Glen Trool,
Kirroughtree, near Newton Stewart, Dalbeattie, Mabie, Forest of Ae,
Tweed Valley - Glentress and Innerleithen, and Newcastleton.
Extreme and off road driving sessions are available on the wild and muddy hills of the
Scottish Off Road Drivibg Centre.
The
Centre has a driving range covering five hundred acres of good natural
terrain to offer the driver a thoroughly comprehensive 4x4 training
experience.
Quadmania is situated near Dunoon on the west coast of Scotland. It offers many activities, including quad biking and mountain-biking. There are a variety of courses to choose from.
